What is Story Art

June 20th, 2014

Story Art is not new, in fact the concept of this thought, to creating art that conveys a story, is seen as far back as the cave drawing done by the ancients. I think what is new is the terminology used to describe it... Story Art.... a little different then Visual Message Art, as that genre leads itself more to a moral or message conveyed using slightly different elements....both overlap and sometimes impossible to distinguish between what is Visual Message Art and what is Story Art.... In my opinion, Story Art tells more about cultures, people, events, legends, stories of humanity, or of nature, truthfully the possibilities are endless and only limited by the creative's vision... New Book - Under the Wire

Under the Wire is a pictorial walk into the past. Take a journey to British Columbia, Canada's Gold Mines, Ghost Towns and Historical Sites and read excerpts from Barbara St. Jean's fact based fictional historic novel titled; Under the Wire. Gold can glitter but it can't sing....or so they said in the year of the Lord 1862 in New Caledonia. It was British Territory, north of the 49Th parallel, Canada referred to by some while others called it the backwater of the wilderness.

All Artwork showcased in this book are available in Prints from Fine Art America @ http://barbara-saint-jean.artistwebsites.com/

Colour Trends - Interior Design

Colour trends for interior designers and paint companies, is it important for artists?

My answer would be Yes and No....

According to Benjamin Moore Paint Company Luscious lemon sorbet, is their Color of the Year for 2013.

Quote from website says this colour "is the perfect transitional color between the mid-tones and saturated colors seen in today's home furnishings and the softer, lighter pastels which are emerging for 2013. This beautiful yellow harmonizes with other trending pastels in the mint, coral, pink, blue, and vanilla families. Uplifting without being overpowering, lemon sorbet complements almost any color palette and provides a unifying element for diverse spaces."

Do interior designers buy art for their clients based on the new trends... Yes

Do clients create their own colour themes in their design projects around a piece of ART work.... Yes

Colour palettes play an important role for the home owner and for the artist who's art that hangs on their walls...

Food for thought....
